Award for Candy Shop

The chocolatier Schokoladerie de Prie in Stralsund is Germany’s best candy shop. At the International Sweets Business Forum in Berlin, the owners were awarded the prize “Süßer Stern 2011” in gold. The prize is awarded by the international confectionery association Sweets Global Network. The jury commended the ambience of the shop in Stralsund’s town center, as well as the quality of the chocolate and the expert advice offered by the sales staff. Praise was also given for the exceptional chocolates produced in house. This year, more than 500 candy shops from 13 states applied for the award. The prize-winning shop in Stralsund has good company in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Although it is not yet widely known, the state is on its way to becoming a “sweet” region. The candy factory SweetTec, one of the largest and most modern candy factories, as well as ToffeTec and the Gummibear Factory, continue to expand their capacities.
