Invest in MV Promotes the State to Investors at the EWEA OFFSHORE 2011 in Amsterdam

From November 29 to December 1st, 2011, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern presented itself at the world’s largest exhibition and conference for offshore wind energy in Amsterdam. The new “Wind Energy in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” image film was also shown at the event. This was the fourth year that Invest in MV was represented at the leading exhibition for offshore wind energy in Europe. The state economic development agency also presented itself at the “side event” as a partner of Germany’s federal investment promotion agency Germany Trade and Invest (GTaI), as well as at the conference’s top-class dinner event. The state’s new “Wind Energy in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” image film was also shown at this dinner event, which was attended by 400 top-level decision-makers from the wind industry. In the film, the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern presents its economic potential for wind industry investors. Instead of tourism highlights, it is the wind energy industry that has taken center stage. The film also includes a welcoming address in which Minister President Erwin Sellering emphasizes the importance of this sector. The entire value-added chain for the industry is presented on the basis of short, incisive company testimonials and dynamic film sequences. In its short sequences, the film communicates a central message: the number-one growth industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is wind energy. “We hope to use this film to reach potential investors and impress them with the excellent opportunities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,” said Michael Sturm, managing director of Invest in MV. For the EWEA OFFSHORE 2011, Invest in MV arranged a total of 38 meetings with companies from the wind-energy industry interested in locating in the region.
