The Air and Space Region Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Due to its favorable regional proximity to the aviation center Hamburg, 30 medium-sized suppliers with approx. 1,200 employees have located to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The aviation network in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern supports the sector’s development, the bundling of know-how and serves as the link between service providers such as Airbus, EADS Space Transportation, ESA, Thales, Boeing, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) and potential subcontractors from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The joint enterprise of Diehl and Thales is active in the field of aviation equipment with a wide spectrum of products. Innovative system solutions from the cockpit to the cabin are developed in the Rostock branch. As a supplier for Airbus, Diehl developed a new door and flight guidance system for the Airbus aircraft family.
